Steering Wheel

How difficult is it to change out the old steering wheel for a new factory steering wheel? Oh, 93 F150 with no air bag, only cruise control. Changing from the leather one to the hard rubber one. Leather one is bad.

Extremely easy. Unscrew the horn pad from the steering wheel, unplug the horn pad then unbolt the steering wheel from the shaft. Thats it

You might need a puller. Sometimes they don't want to let go. No installer needed: just tighten the nut.

Thanks guys. So the rubber covered wheel is going to be okay in comparison to the leather one?

It will be okay but not as nice.

I bought a leather cover that you sew on but have yet to install it.

Make sure and use regular puller and not a slide hammer type!

By regular puller you mean a steering wheel puller and not a jaw type puller? I didn't feel that info was necessary to include.

What does the steering wheel look like under the leather? Mine is really bad, I was thinking of just cutting it off but wasn't sure what it looks like underneath.
