Power washed about 5 lbs of mud from the underneath, a few layers of grease from the engine and gave the body a quick wash.
Looked for some fenders at the junk yard; they are all worse than mine so I guess I'll be ordering some patch panels along with front cab supports and cab corners.
Still mostly in the planning stages. My super crew in the background has a growling rear end and exhaust leak I'm currently tending to.
I'm coming up dry on fenders, and it looks like patch panels won't quite cut it. The inner brace behind is also rusted. Anyone have a line on some nice, rust free originals? Or a recommendation for aftermarket ones that are decent? I haven't been impressed with the fitment of aftermarket body panels.

I have a 69 do you want to get them together for a date night?
Nice! Odd that your front valance is red when mine is white. My truck is original paint afaik. Not finding any reasonably priced used fenders ($400-$500 shipped yeouch!)
Found a pair of aftermarket front fenders for $266 shipped I'll be ordering Monday. I figure they all come from the same Pyongyang factory so what the hell eh?

This is a pair of NOS '67 Mustang fenders I have. These set me back a $1,000.00 dollar bill.
Finding really good used fenders (whether for an old Mustang or an old Ford truck) can be difficult and the repop Chinese stuff fits like crap. Even the ones touting being stamped on Ford tooling doesn't fit like the original NOS stuff.

+1 on the crappy aftermarket metal( at least for the mustang). I found decent used fenders for my '66 mustang and patched them.
After finishing up some repairs on my super crew I had some time for this old girl today. Thought the choke spring was bad but turned out to be just misadjusted. Yanked the radiator and dropped it at the radiator shop and tore into the non functioning back brakes.
Shoes and hardware looked pretty new but both wheel cylinders appeared to have been leaking at some point and then dry for some time. Replaced them and cleaned and adjusted the shoes. Ran out of time to bleed them.
The alternator was making a horrible squeal; I had the original from my '77 after upgrading to 3g. I swapped the pulley and that's ready to go.
Also tried some TR3 at the suggestion of another member, that stuff is MONEY! Can't wait to rub down the whole truck
Brakes bled and all 4 are functional now. Fenders arrived, look acceptable. I'll report on their fitment next week when I get them installed
Cleaned the hubs up and painted them satin black as I won't be running center caps for now. Also picked up some mid 90s ford alcoas with some decent 235/75s on them.
Pulled the seat and gas tank. Cleaned out the bad gas and replaced the sunk float so the gauge works again. Cleaned about 30 years of funk and weirdness from under the seat.
Some fresh gas in the tank, also a new cap so the fuel smell should be alleviated. Also replaced the filter, o-ring and rubber line to the fuel pump. When ethanol goes bad it tends to eat rubber

Reason: Double post
Is Ruby getting ready to take her love to town? I need to have my radiator rebuilt. If you don't mind me asking, what do they charge in your area? Thanks.
