Not at all, I don't intend to wrench it now. Just need to know if there's any sort of technical snag that would make it impossible no matter how experienced the mechanic is.

Technical snags? Many will come up without proper planning.. good thing it's being done but it is definitely not a bolt-in deal

Well, for what most shops get for hourly rate, you'd be money ahead to just go buy a 4x4. It's been done but even if they had done it many times before, it could still go over 100 billable hours plus parts, like over 10 grand in a heartbeat.
I've done a few, just find a donor 4x4 and use the whole chassis, switch your body and engine in.
