Lift Kit
I'm still using the 5.5" front springs. I left the shocks and rear springs at the 4x4 shop. I don't have room for any more in my garage. I'm sure he's dumped them by now/
Great picture of your eXcursion... Nice looks!!!
One question though: Did you realize a big change in handeling, like swaying or so with the 5.5" lift and 35's?
I was just wondering on how much the ride quality will have to give for the lift...
Trust me - you won't have any body roll or swaying at all.
looks good rottndog ... 5.5 fabtechs front with dual bilsteins, but what exactly do you have the rear?... thanks

Just was wondering about the body movement change. I just thought the taller and higher vehicle would have a definate influence on the handeling... but I can read that I should not be concerned I guess.
Thank you for all your input... I'll have it priced out and see what I will do...
Thanks everyone...
(Any and all suggestions are still welcome)
As I was told by the Ford Dealership where I bought the car from, any aftermarket full suspension lift would cancel and void my factory warranty. As I really don't want to take that risk, they mentioned an alternative way - the 4" "block" lift. This will NOT void any warranty and is more cost efficient as well (for my purposes it will definately do).
When I was going to drop of my truck to do the modifications though, the technician - who is the "lift expert" - was very upfront and made me aware of several problems they come across with lifting Excursions. All of the lifted trucks caused major vibrations at speeds around 40-60 mph. They apparently can't figure out what exactly is causing the problem (they mentioned maybe the weight of the vehicle).
I am really hesitant now making modifications in regards of a lift, as I really don't want to screw up my truck.
That's where really need some help from fellow Excursion drivers, which made the modification (especially the "block lift"). I would like to know if you experienced or experience any problems at all, or if it is simply the technician, which does not know what he's doing???
HELP!!!!
Thank you for any input....

The 4" block will only lift the rear.............since blocks in the front are dangerous and illegal in many places. The 4" block is standard under the rear springs of the F-350 4x4s.
As far as the vibrations sounds like they need some work done to the rear driveshaft to eliminate the vibration.
If you want a plush ride I'd recommend looking into the Edge 4.5" lift. It uses a spring hanger and shakle to achieve the lift......so it doesn't increase spring rate. Comes with Bilstein 5100 shocks that will improve the ride over the stock shocks.
Overkill knows a good deal about lifting an X ......here's a pic of his:
I'd recommend him as a good source of knowledge and a great guy to buy the lift from. He has excellent customer service. His email is TruckToyz@sbcglobal.net
Hope this helps.
