Question Lift Kit

I am considering lifting my '03 X Limited 4x4. I need some input from you guys (and girls of course):

I absolutely do NOT like the "leveled" looks of some trucks, where it seems like the nose of the truck is sticking higher up then the rear.

I don't have any experiences with lifting a truck, but I would like to raise mine approx. 4", so that I can put some 35's on my rims.

Any idea on what to look out for or what to ask for at the dealership in order to prevent that "low rear" look?
I would love to keep the leveling to the same as it comes factory installed.

Do you have to raise the rear more than the front then?

Any feedback is welcome... Thanks a lot

I would recomend at least a 6" for 35"s and an all spring liift. MrRottndog should be able to recomend a route to go, he has tried a few different combinations.

As far as a kiit goes, you could look at Fabtech, SuperLiift, The Edge and Skyjacker .
I would recomend Bilstein Shoccks also, a close second would be some Edlebrocks

Okay... I'll look into those manufacturers. But what about the "leveled" looks?

Any idea what to ask for before installation?
I really don't want to ruin the looks of the truck by having the nose sticking up higher than the rear end....

Please let me know.... Thanks

Any good kiit will have the truck sitting level, mine sits a touch higher in the rear, and I run a SuperLiift.
Just make sure if your having it installed, ask how many they have done and if you can see pictures of the trucks when they were finished. I would recomend taking it to a shop that deals with 4x4, they would know the little tricks involved.

You will need at least a 5.5" to 6" lift to clear 35's. There are a million threads on lift kits in the superduty forum. Your suspension... if you have a 4x4 X is pretty much the same as a F250 etc. Read all you can and select the one best suits your situation... i.e. what the purpose will be and the money you have available.

I started out with a 5.5" fabtech lift and 35/12.50R/16 Super Swamper SSR's. I was happy with the lift but decided to go larger.

Here is a pic of how my eXcursion looked with just the fabtech 5.5" lift and 35's! If you select the fabtech... I got the optional leaf springs in the back. It will be level. I also got the dual shocks in front just for looks. I would delete the fabtech shocks and use a better shock such as bilstein 5100's for lifted trucks.

Hey Rotten,

Do you want to sell your old FabTech?
