As some may remember I have had a running issue with getting my gas gauge and sender working correctly with the 38 gallon tank...by extending the float arm to 2X it's original length that is solved. However, when I filled the tank I has a small leak - the bloody square-cut O-ring under the sender somehow seated poorly on installation and allowed gas to leak out.
For what it's worth: at my FLAPS the correct size regular O-ring #229 is the same size, a little larger in cross section, and was a drop in fit. No more leak, and it cost a whopping buck and change.
At least at every one I tried, I could only get the square factory-style O-ring if I bought the sending unit.. hence thinking other folks might want to know the size. I think the round O-ring should seal better, too with less chance of distortion. The retainer ring was a tad snug but knocked into place pretty easily.
