Ok.... It's not so much of a problem as it is an annoyance. When it is fuel it reads full. When it is empty it reads 1/8th of a tank. How do I know what it reads empty..... You know how I know. "I'm not a smart man Jeny" (best Forest Gump voice) Please let me know if you have any suggestions as to how I should problem solve this. (other than keepin the tank full.

If your sender is like mine (1950), then you pull the sending unit out of the gas tank and bend the rod that the float is attached to. Unfortunately it is trial-and-error and will never be as accurate as a new tank/sender. Lessee.... I believe you'll have to bend it "upwards" a tad. Probably the best method is to get a small known quantity of gas in the tank (say, 3-4 gallons) and then play around a bit until you get the gauge to read Empty. Hope this helps...
JUst wonder if yours is like mine and has been altered during its life (read bent on the bottom) , When mine gets to 1/4 tank, I start looking for some go juice. from the looks of mine, somebody either set it down on something or it became acquainted with a rock or something similar.
