This started maybe a month ago, haven't driven truck much lately. Anyways the problem I seem to be having is that the truck especially after hitting bumps either wants to pull to the left or the right a pretty good amount. I did put the wider and taller 30x10.5 15s on it a couple months ago, not sure if related. Anyways I checked the front end parts, play in wheel bearings and all steering related things - tie rod ends, wheel bearings for excessive play, loosenes in any parts relating to steering, including ball joints and everything seems Ok - pretty tight. The only significant issue right now, apparently I damaged internal hub because wheel bearing on rt front was not good, and this leaves that hub only engaged. Also I have bad ujoints on this axle. I am thinking that although this is not good, it shouldn't have that much affect on steering, it seems to come and go, and certainly bumps or afterwards when things reload, does not seem to want to maintain a straight line .....
Suggestions, thoughts on this ?
I am still trying to get my other little truck running to spend more time on this one .....
Not sure if I described accurately the problem. Either on hitting a bump or coming down, it usually want to pull left until corrected. However at times it may go the other way. Not a comforting feeling ..... nobody had this problem in the past ?
Yes, the u joints can do that if binding up. Radius arm bushings also in good shape? The optional P metric tire size converts over to a 31" so your 30" tires are not necessarily the problem.
Ok, My4ford trucks, I don't think the ujoints are binding up, there is alot of slop and sometime they're going to give up, I need to get that other truck done so I can work on this one ..... my pivot bushings are good .... thks
