Hello
Well I went out and bought a 292 yesterday, full motor and
3 spd tranny, no not transsexual.. hahaha
anyway..
could anyone enlighten me on these motors.. I understand the
crank is different from a cars crank?
Here's what I know so far
Block C2AE ()?
Exhaust driver side ENU-8431 - C
Passenger ECE - 9430 - B
I did not get the Head numbers, just to lazy to take the exhaust
manifolds off today...
It has Champion RA4YC I would like to use a Motorcrat plug
I'm just going to take this motor back to basic's ...
could someone give me the belt numbers
I have no plans for a car or truck yet..
My original plan was to take a V8 from each series and build it
as a show piece and take them to car shows.
Getting that motor out of a Ford Escape was very interesting
working alone.
Then getting it into my back yard for the cleaning...
It does have a 3 spd tranny with it..
AF 7006-D, 27 on the top
94Q on the side plate
AB7222-B
any info, or assistance is appreciated
I think they came with Champions, I dunno. The nomenclature has changed over the years, the exact plug #s are no longer made/superseded. 45 is a fine plug, you'll have plenty of other things to worry about to get the old gal running right.
Right, those don't sound like the correct plug, and they are probably no longer made in any case, Champions have somewhat of a bad reputation anymore...
Bill I don't think I said there was, but I was looking for a "Ford" part..
They use to own Autolite until the Gov stepped in.. Funny that GM could
buy Delco but Ford could not buy Autolite..
Oh I know there must have been a million reasons that the DOJ went after
Ford...
The cranks are the same in all of the important dimensions.
Heavy duty engines after about '61 had the forged crank but it is not that common and not worth finding for most builds.
The cast cranks seem to live just fine in high performance Ys up to about 500hp and they are lighter than the forged crank. If it has the cast crank and it most likely does, it will be more than adequate for a stock build.
If the heads are original, the numbers will be under the intake flange. You'll probably need a mirror and flash light. Or just wait until you pull them to look. If they are original, they won't be anything particularly special.
they are CITE Heads, and it took me some time finding them and cleaning
them to be able to read .
Also I have "orange" paint on the back side of both heads, looks like it had
been painted over.
I just bought a Fel Pro gasket set, and I'm thinking of getting an ARP SS bolt
kit...
Best
Hey you think so!!!!!!!
I'm just going to pound a copper rod into the ground and connect to it
Need to get it out onto my grass and hit it with the pressure washer...
then I'm going to take off the heads and soak them in de-greasser
unfortunately I loaned out my engine stand, so have to either buy a new one or wait till I get it back
