Tire Recomendations
Hey guys, I have a 2014 Super Duty FX4 package and need recommendation for new 20" tires. I have almost 55K on the original Michelin's but I am not impressed with the off road cleaning of these tires. I do not want "mudders" as I travel mostly highaways and byways and off-roading consist of hunting and fishing trails.
My son has Cooper AT3s on his truck and he loves them but says they have some road noise.

Cooper AT3's as well as Cooper Maxx are very popular in my area. I have had the AT3's on several diesels and been happy, and I felt they were a pretty quiet tire. I never had a flat with coopers yet either, and I travel some pretty rough gravel, especially hunting time. I just purchased some Nitto Grappler 2's for my new truck w/20's. I really wanted the size: 285/65/20 and cooper doesn't make it. I always by 10ply rated too.

The A/T3's on my truck are E-rated, 285/75R-16. (I have an old truck) Yes, they do make some noise, The ST's a little more so, and I would assume the STT's even more. (Never ran the STT's myself) Firestone makes an AT that is pretty good, but I don't know about the noise. They aren't quite as aggressive as the Cooper A/T3's, so they should be a little more quiet than the Coopers. The thing to remember is, the more aggressive the tire, the more noise they're going to make. Toyo makes an Open Country tire that looks very similar to the Cooper A/T3's. Mastercraft also makes a tire similar to the Coopers, which I think is actually made by Cooper.
