Hello to all. New here and trying to gain as much knowledge on the 2017 Superduty as possible. Recently sold my 2002 Superduty F250 7.3 Crewcab Lariat 4x4 to a friend and ordered the same truck but 2017 model and Platinum trim. I bought my 02 new and it has been hands down the BEST truck I've ever owned. Had 180k miles on it when sold. Used for towing primarily and had the usual issues after first purchase on those trucks-they had a terrible automatic transmission for towing! Ford replaced the tranny 4x under warranty before 60k miles and once warranty was up took it to John Woods in Holtville, Ca. After spending almost 4 grand on it, it is now bulletproof with a manual lock-up converter. No more problems. Best $ ever spent. Having said all that I still question if selling it was the right thing to do. Ford please do me right on these new trucks! I've stayed away from the notoriously problematic 6.0 diesel and then the 6.4 waiting for a better motor to be built. From what I hear the 6.7 is it! First saw the new Superduty November 6, 2015 at the SEMA convention in Las Vegas and have been chasing it ever since! Got to drive 3 of the 17 Superduty trucks in Anaheim, Ca. last week at the Ford event, came home and ordered me one! Now I keep my fingers crossed I don't regret selling my 7.3.

 

The 7.3's are great trucks but.....the new combination of the 6.7 and the 6 speed transmission is hard to beat. Congratulations.....

Thank you 1ATony, glad to be here! Anxiously awaiting the new truck and hoping my order doesn't get delayed like what I am reading has happened to so many already. Learning that Ford needs a better way for customers to follow their order! I think the dealerships are partly to blame in that mess though! Some orders that are retail orders are placed by dealerships as a stock order while others are not leaving Ford to unknowingly delay what they might think is an unsold unit just for stock when its actually a spoken for order. Clear as mud? I hope so!
