I made a cardboard template and used a cutoff wheel. make sure you look at the support brackets behind the bumper
Why would the manufacturer not include a printed template on some card-stock with the lights. That's dumb. EVERYONE who buys those is going to need a template.
You did a great job. I plan to do something similar on my '16 when I get around to it.
I removed she short wiring harness that does to the trailer plug. I pulled power and ground from there. Mine are wired so I can turn them on from a switch in bed if the truck is on or they come one when I shift into reverse.

I bought one of these and swapped out the halogen with an led bulb and it gives plenty of extra light. No wiring, no drilling holes and only $12 i figured it was worth a shot and it was.

Oh man that's great! Thanks for sharing! I just ordered one for my ranch truck...
Those are duraflaps, 14" wide version. Here is another picture of them (you can actually see one of my old lights in the picture before the reflector rusted out and I replaced them with the LED ones).

on each side of the bumper, near the outter edges, but underneath, there are some fairly large torx screws:
for my led pods, I simply removed these screws, then run the bolt through the bracket for the led's, through the ring terminal for the light ground & back into the original location.
hot wire was spliced off my backup lights & you're done.
the next images are taken standing in the bed with backup lights off, with them on & then 2 taken from behind: first of these was about 1/4 block away & the final was diagonally from about 25 feet: sorry about the quality of the crappy cell pics, but didn't feel like lugging out my ginormous dslr
