Hello... In need of some advice, I looking in replacing the carburetor on my 1984 Bronco that has a 302. I have been looking at the Edelbrock Carburetor to purchase, I only use for road use and a little off road. When I look at the current set up of Vacuum lines to the stock Carb its a mess , the pump has already been removed for pollution . What Im looking for is advice on what carburetor is suggested and should i replace the stock intake manifold also and what can I remove when after installing a after market Carb .. like Vacuum lines..

Thank You
I hope we can keep in touch and help each other out. I just bought and 84 bronco with 302 and c6 trans 410 gears. Idk if you already know this but i have bad news we have the weakest 302 ford made with the smallest cam you can possibly put in these things.
Im curious about all the damn vacum lines as well i have several that i plugged off myself and others i just dont really know.... i did find out one thing the round ball on the passenger fender well is for the cruise control or something.... but for sure it has a regulator built in for the vacum system so leave the supply line to it hooked up! Other than that from what i can tell 500 cfm carbs are the best way to go and if you decide holley you may have to adjust it everytime you offroad. I also read that many guys had issues with the 1401 500cfm eddlebrock offroad but has great reponse and power on the street, i really dont know what to do as my carb is junked up.... glad someone else has the same truck hopefully we can help each other through it.... P.S. our distributor is vacuum fed to read spark plug firing order off the carb finally figured that out a vouple days ago wrong vaccum line was hooked up.
I'm a few weeks late to the party. Depending on your budget, check summit racing they have a top end kit. Being heads, intake and carb, 4 barrel of course. I think around $1500. My budget dictates ill be trying the amazon $140 no name 2 barrel or the eBay $108 2 barrel.
The bulb you mention, a random canister laying on the passenger inner fender? Mine looks like a painted black can of beans. I left it for now. I've seen Chevy vans require it to operate the brakes. If its just for cruise I may cut it out. My 80 didn't have cruise.
As for the carburetors, if you can rebuild it. The kits are cheap. Have someone who has experience help. There is a check ball that will be a show stopper. Slow and steady wins the race. There are write ups about it somewhere.
