Hello!! Im looking to buy another powerstroke already have a 7.3 and love it to death but its a 2wd drive dually and its a manual transmission and its not very fun to drive in high traffic areas like Minneapolis ect so ive been talking to my older friend who has this 2005 6.0 f350 fully loaded that he bought brand new off the lot and usually trades them in every couple of years but found out about the night mirrors from the 6.0 and decided to keep it and run it to the ground but years have gone by and now he has damn near 300k on it and pulls a cargo trailer almost every day and has a 35 foot bumper pull camper and a boat that he pulls to but he has never had any problem with it never even had to put the hood other then changing the occasional filters ect (general maintenance) and he's offered to give it to me for a trade of a 1.2 carat diamond (my mothers a jeweler lol sorry probably through you off there) to officially marry his wife or 7000 buck i would only be giving him anywhere from 4500-5500 but cash in hand and figure if the 6.0 ever decided to bite the dust I'd cummins swap it or put a bullet proofed 6.0 in it. But does anyone think i will have problems soon down the road with the 6.0 bc it has almost 300k miles and heads haven't gone yet oe egr ect??? But then again i haven't heard of one lasting as long as it has with out being bullet proof? And does anyone think hes asking to much??

All depends on how he maintained it. How well all fluids were kept clean. At that price I would look more at the frame and drivetrain. If something went wrong with the engine you can rebuild and still have a cheap reliable truck.
