That should take care of the liability issues then. Wouldn't they be just as liable if the truck says 80psi, you pump that 65psi tire up to that pressure then the tire fails?
Where might these instructions be? I know that my 2010 F250 had rear PSI of 65 but the F350 that was otherwise exact same truck was 80psi and I wish it could have been turned down. I will want to lower it because the likely Toyo M/T that I will be adding on custom wheels have a max pressure of 65psi.
You'll have to do some searching in the forums. It was over 4 years ago now that mine was done. I do remember it was very easy though. Maybe 3-4 steps after they plug into your truck. Less than a minute job.
As to liability, the scenario is this. If they lower the alarm threshold and you tow or load heavy while aired down you could have a blowout and have an accident without the low pressure alert ever going off. We live in a litigious country and if people can sue, they will...
