Headlights and Steering/braking problems?

Hello all, Its great to see I'm not the only Ford enthusiest out there.
Here are a few questions I have and haven't been able to get straight answers for. They are both on my 1988 Bronco II

#1) Headlights: After replacing the master control(on off switch) in the dashboard, the high/low beem switch in the steering column and both lamps, I still have the problem of my lights going on and off. Its kind of like something is loose because when jarred with a bump or whatever, they will either go on or go off... (the lights are in the on position when this happens obviously)

#2)Steering/Braking: I replaced my front brakes 2 months ago, the rear brakes are fine, the problem(s) I am having now are the following..
a) while driving occasionaly steering column feels as if it is wobbling
b) while applying brakes, it feels as if the truck is jerking foward

Now I bought the truck this way 2 years ago and have gone through new tires, balancing, etc... I can't help but think there may be something I am missing.

I have had had very few problems with this truck, witch makes the $750 I paid an awesome deal, I just haven't been able to get past these 2 problems.
Any/All help is very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Dan

Headlights and Steering/braking problems?

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 12-Jan-02 AT 03:53 PM (EST)]I would check all wiring to the headlight switch. Do all of the lights flicker together? That is, do the dash lights, parking lights, tail lights all go out together? Could be the main feed wire going to the switch.
As for the brakes, it sounds to me that your front rotors are warped. This will cause the front end, steering to wobble plus cause the pedal to pulsate a little. Good luck. Jake.

Thanks Jake,
The lights themselves are what go on and off, all others (blinkers, interior dash) don't do this. I have checked the wires, every single one even if it didn't have anything to do with the lighting, and they all looked fine.
As for the brakes, I haven't had the rotors checked yet. I have inspected them visually, and they seemed fine to me, but then again I'm not a machine...lol

Thanks again

Dan

Dan, The rotors need to be checked throughly. It is very easy to miss a warped or flawed rotor. They should probably be guaged and then cut if possible. Or, replaced if the originals can't be cut down.
As for the lights, I believe that the headlights are on a separate circuit from the dash and tail lights. Even though they all run on the same switch, the headlight feed wire or the wire going from the switch to the headlights themselves could have a bad section or loose connection to it. Good luck. Jake.
