Hi folks, I have been driving my truck a bunch lately, and that has given me the opportunity to have to get on the gas while at speed. The truck drives great, has lots of power and cruises nicely, but at 60 or so mph, it bogs for an instant if I apply lots of throttle briskly. It still pulls hard. I put in a new accelerator pump that only helped marginally. Any ideas? Thanks!
Is it a Holley? If it is then it will also have an accelerator pump cam (maybe 2 if mechanical secondary 4 barrel). You can buy different cams and also adjust each cam to typically 2 different settings, some designs having a 3rd.
They can make a rather significant difference as I have toyed around with them in the past. The cam determines how far the accelerator pump is pushed in relation to the amount of gas pedal movement.
It could be other things but I would probably try and mess around with this first.
