I picked up a set of wheels off a mustang for a very cheap price. They are 18x10 rear and 18x9 front with 6.5 backspacing. My 68 has a 79 disc brake conversion on the front and 79 rear end as well. I plan to order wheel adapters so the will fit the 5.5 lug pattern. Im wondering if I would have any clearance issues with these wheels. I will post a picture of the wheels shortly. Thank for any advise.

Yes, yes you will. With 9- and 10-inch wheels the backspacing has to be spot-on and tires should already be on hand so the correct spacers can be ordered... Tire size, although labeled the same, will differ between manufacturers.
"Cheap" can be expensive....
In the professional world, tires are fitted to the wheel wells and then the wheels are ordered to spec... Ever see that tool called a "Wheel-Rite"? That's the sano way of doing it...
The adapters will add width to the axle basically so that is another variable. HI0 is right in some cases cheap can end up as much as a brand new set of properly backspaced wheels. If your lucky you will need less backspacing and you can kill two birds with one stone with the right sized adapter. If not they do make a jig that would allow you to redrill the rotors and axles to change the bolt pattern. I drilled my stock axles to get the truck on the road while I was having my wheels built. It wasn't to bad to do but my rotors were ordered for the right pattern. So I only had to drill the axles.
I have the chrome 18" bullitts on my 64 which is on a 75 frame and I used adapters, it is tight but it fits. I did roll over my fender lip and I still have 3/4" room.
