I want to replace my wheels but need to verify a few things first. My truck has solid axles front and rear with 16" wheels. The wheels only have five holes. Is this a 5 x 5 1/2 pattern? If so why? I can understand the 5 is for five holes but what is the 5 1/2 mean?
The truck has about 3" of lift and the 235/85 - 16 tires loook pretty small in the wheel wells. Would 35 - 12.5 - 16 fit? When I measure it looks as though there would be lots or room but I am concerned about when I turn or the suspension compresses a lot.
Should I order 16 x 8 or 16 x 10 wheels? I want to run at least 12.5 tires and possibly wider ones.
Yes, the wheels have a 5 on 5 1/2 pattern. The 5 is the number of lugs and the 5 1/2 is the bolt spacing(5 1/2" between opposite lug centers). With 3" of lift, 35's should fit fine. Next, wheels. You shouldn't have to keep the 16" wheel size (unless you like the 16's) 15" should clear the brake components just fine and you'll have a better tire selection. I'd use a 10" wide wheel for a 12.5" tire.
