I just noticed that my bronco dosen't have a working door/headlight buzzer. I found where it is supposed to be plugged into on the harness itself, but I cant find the buzzer itself. It has to be somewhere around the glovebox
if your talking about that little thing that ding, ding, ding every time you open the door? it probly had a previous owner like me, i unplung, remove, and crush'em on everything i own, I hate them things there annoying! DW
Yep thats what im talking about. I have only had my truck for 3 weeks and I have already locked my keys in(not a big deal, I have no rear window). I could just wire up a switch so that the buzzer wouldnt chime with the doors open when I didnt want them to. Ever heard the buzzer from a Bronco II? It acctually buzzes extreemly loud. I dont mind having that one disconected
Not 100% sure about your 86 but on my 89, the buzzer is to the left and a little lower than the radio but I had to get to mine from underneath the drivers side floor. I replaced mine because I locked my key in and would rather listen to the chime than to my wife bitchin when I lock myself out again.

Does it have 3 wires(green, yellow, and orange/red) going to it? I have found a some more wires that arnt connected to anything right around where you said they would be. I wasnt able to find any buzzer itself though. Anyone know what it looks like?
Mine has the "ding ding ding" which I can hear but it is very faint. I actually WANT mine to be louder, mostly for the "lights on" warning which would have saved me a dead battery once.
JBronco
I have done the same thing .i pull mine out because i use it for work and on the beach i leave the door open alot and the sound drives me nuts..lol And from your other thread i hope you keep the bronco ..lol Man you got alot of heat from that one ..Ha HA HA ..take care buddy ..
i would have been more than happy to send you my little ding, ding box, except when i took it out i threw it on the concret garage floor and stomped on it!! oh well you can always raid the junk yard for one. DW
Oh your 84 the buzzer will be on the inside and above the glove box. there will be a notch cut out just above the latch for the glove box for easy access. Now weather or not it's still there is another story on my old 84 CC Dually as soon as I found it it became food for the wheels.
Someone once posted here and said if you get anew one from the dealer, then it will be louder. I am thinking of doing this, and then putting a simple on/off switch in the lead so if I want to leave the doors open I just turn the switch off.
