Ok guys, looking for some advice here. 2013 ECOBOOST 4x4 with 80k miles. Timing chain rattles like crazy upon initial start up, but thats not the problem. The motor has started knocking and I am being told its the #2 cylinder on the passenger side and I need a new motor. My purchasing dealership told me I was out of warranty (the truck is out by 20k) and my local dealership is unwilling to help since I didnt buy it from them. I understand that things go bad sometimes with trucks, but the complete lack of assistance at all has me very frustrated. I bought the truck new in Feb of 14' and now the motor is shot! Pulling my hair out here...
I apologize if you see this same write up on another thread. I had another member suggest I make a new thread.
I'd suggest giving Ford Customer Service a call at (800) 392-3673. Explain the situation and ask if there's any assistance they can offer. They may offer to pay for much of the repair.
Yes sir, not good at all.... I actually have contacted ford customer service (more than a month ago). The guy we as very understanding and offered me a case number and sent it to my local dealer. It has gone absolutely nowhere. I even emailed the customer service rep back and explained I was getting nowhere with the dealer. His response was "keep down the dealer rd, thats your best option". Its crazy the complete lack of "care" that is involved here. Customer service says we understand lets see what we can do, but nobody will go any further than that.
Sounds like Ford isn't going to assist you either. Did you use the Ford dealer network for routine maintenance such as oil changes? If so, I'd go back to the dealer who did the work routinely and drop this in his lap.
I'm guessing by your response saying help you either that you have had a similar issue. .... I actually has all the oil changes done at a local garage. Records are available from them. Maybe I should have used Ford to do the oil. Who knows!

No sir, i've been very fortunate but I've read enough issues on here to believe that Ford isn't going to get involved.
Glad to hear all is well with yours. I had someone tell me that ford allocates money for issues like mine. A helping hand so to speak. Does anyone know any truth to this? Or even another step I could take?
A new ecoboost motor installed is $10k! That's a hard pill to swallow for a truck that's less than 3 years old
