Hey guys I have a 2012 f350 xlt and I pulled into work the other day and as I was pulling in my fuel pump quit (fass 150 pump) and I could smell that it had burnt out before I even climbed under the truck so I ordered a new pump and left the truck to sit for a few days without ever turning it on or trying to start it so today I went out to go turn it on and when I turned the key on my message center started freaking out saying service advancetrack system service, break system, it said the doors were open when they weren't so I shut the key off and on a couple times hoping it would go away but then after turning the key off and on a couple times now nothing at all turns on..my window is stuck rolled down the gauges and message center don't come on but my park lights will come on when I open the door and my run/start relay with constantly tick when the key is off. Any suggestions? All help is greatly appreciated thanks
First is battery voltage - are your batteries good? Low battery voltage tends to freak out the computers.
Second, if you have anything plugged into the OBD port at all - unplug it and try your start/shut off/restart thing again. I would also remove anything plugged into the 12V and 110V accessory outlets. Why this affects the truck when starting, I have no idea. But I have cured some weird issues by unplugging them before I shut the truck off and NOT plugging them in until I restart. (my best guess is it relates to lower battery voltage).
I can't help with the fass shorting out and what that could affect as I never had one.
