knock sense again

My truck has a little bit of valve pinging on take-off and oil blow-by which shows up as an oil spot on my air filters. I am assuming that it's worn valve guides. I did unplug my knock sensor and the truck will run without it, but it does ping more (which is not a good thing). If you're having a problem with pinging, I would retard the timing or go to a higher octane fuel. If you really want the problem solved, it means tearing into the motor.

if you unplug it the engine will run rough because the ECM uses it for engine timing.
