Had to get a rear view mirror for my 73 F100. Can someone measure theirs for the placement on the windshield. Like centered, how many inches from the top of the windshield?
One truck 3" other truck 3 1/2" down, measured on the outside from the bottom of the windshield seam. 32" from the outside seam edge to edge of mount piece.
Since you are probably buying an aftermarket mirror, this is what I would do, because I ran into this before.
Put your sun visors down, then find the center line between them. Hold the mirror about 3" down, and see if you can still flip the visors up, and unclip them and swing them to the sides.
Mine fell off about 25-30 years ago, I took a piece of about 11 gage steel same width as mirror base at widest point .... long enough to sandwich under the center sun visor clip and drop down to where I wanted the mirror mounted which in my case, was not far. Always thought mirror was too low. Mounted "button" to steel with glue or epoxy and a single counter sunk screw through center, painted, mount between that plastic visor clip and metal body with two holes drilled in plate to match, never again fell off.
Anybody put on an older mirror from like a 57-60 truck that mounts to cab above the windshield? Mine fell of yesterday and I have never had any luck with the glue to put it back on.
