Googled it but didn't exactly find what I'm looking for.
I'm trying to figure out where the best spot to pull power off these trucks is. I'm going to be using a 2 gauge wire terminal, and I have no idea where to hook it up to.
Obviously I could go for the battery, but I feel like taking that little nut off and putting a big terminal like that on then tightening it down would sort of just crush in the middle and not really make good contact.
I guess I could also chop off a factory battery terminal and replace it with one that has an accessory lug on it but I don't really want to cut factory stuff off.
Is there anywhere on this truck I could hook a terminal
up to easily and make a good connection?
Currently running 2 gauge wire from front of truck to back to have a power source to power my winch on my trailer.
They make battery terminal bolts that have studs on the "head" side you can attach extra wires. That's what I have on my truck for my jumper cable terminal. If it wasn't so hot out and I wasn't so lazy, I would go take some photos of it.
Did you check to see if your battery has side post mounts? Some batteries come with both. You could use those if so equipped. My driver side doesn't have the factory battery clamps and it had plenty of lug for accessories so I just used it
