On my 2003 F350 5.4L I believe 4R100?? I blew the cooler line from the radiator to the cooler a few weeks ago, I fixed it and today, I blew another line while hauling a load of pallet jacks, I had to stop at home and transfer the load to my 95 F250, anyway, I think the blown line is coming from the trans line not the cooler line. Is this the line I want to buy? http://www.autopartswarehouse.com/sk.../RB800612.html
Or can someone point me in the right direction for new trans lines, I have to haul a 12 foot DBL axle enclosed trailer from Chicago area to Memphis area over labor day weekend and I can't afford to have this happen while traveling. Thanks for any input.
Hard to tell which one you blew without seeing a picture.
I did both of mine, feed and return, in my 08 last year. I replaced from the cooler to the transmission with ford lines. My just starting seeping, didn't blow.
Yeah, I don't know which one either, Like I said I had to switch trucks real fast, I called and had my son poke his head under there and he said he couldn't tell, he said the line is leaking at the left drivers side and it turns and goes straight up, which doesn't sound right. I'll have to look for myself later this afternoon when I get home.
On the 08 they are two piece lines. They go from cooler to a quick disconnect. Then from the quick disconnect to the trans. My quick disconnects were frozen so I had to replace all the way to the cooler. They do kinda go up and then back
I got it figured out last night after work, It wasn't the trans lines it was the power steering lines, I assumed it was the trans lines because when I poked my head under the truck, the line(s) I saw leaking were coming right off of a cooler, I was educated last night and discovered that these truck have a cooler for the steering. anyway, Ford wanted $400 for 2 power steering lines, I made the lines myself for Under $25.
