I think the bottom line is they saved ~200 lbs using the aluminum - the chassis upgrades. The extra fuel drops the payload increase to 120# on the CREW 6.7 short bed and the increase is 70# on the CREW 6.7 long bed. I'm sure all of the goodies on the Platinum ultimate will make up the 70# difference --> same payload for 2017 as I'd have in a 2016. I'm more confident it will be OK over the GVWR than the 2016 though as long as I'm within the GAWRs.
BTW, I realized that the 110# RAWR bump for srw mainly helps those with the 6.2. With the 6.7, you have 5100 lbs on the front axle, 5300-5600 lbs when you have passengers. With the old 7120# axle, you'd gross well over 12k before approaching the limit.
I figure I'll have 5600# on the front with 5 people + dog in the cab. To hit 7230# on the rear axle, I'd have 12830# (1330# over my GVWR) on my wheels. With the 750# lighter 6.2, you can approach the axle limit without blowing through the GVWR so bad.
has payloads by model, cab type, bed, bed-delete and cab and chassis across all F-Series including through the F-550 and it breaks the payload down by engine type as well as GVWR. Next? Maybe they'll do the same for Tow Ratings
