99 Ford Expedition/Dashboard

Hi Y'all,
The odometer light went out on my 99Ford Expedition. Have the whole dashboard part. Correct me if I'm wrong but it's not an actual lightbulb? What are we looking for ? We need to see what mileage is on the exp.

As I search for youtube videos - Exp & f150 similar? Are what come up

Thanks in advance,
MorrisClan

Not sure if it is on the 99, but some of the switches have a little notch underneath that you slide a screw driver into, then the **** comes off, and you install it 180 degrees off of the starting position and it lets you unscrew the switch.

Hi Alwaysfords41,
Thanks we got it. There was a clip we had to undo by the light switch to get that part out to get to the screw to take the rest of it out.
Another question: We need to see how many miles is on my expedition. but it won't light up? Doesn't seem to be a light unless we are looking in the wrong place but it seems to be computerized?
TIA

I could be wrong, but I think it's a bad solder joint or something which causes this.

Search for the thread on here titled 'odometer blackout problem fixed'. It is indeed a cold solder joint, easily fixed.

Hi Brandynr,
I believe you are correct. It was so late by the time we figured that out we just somewhat put it back together in case I needed to go somewhere. .....it light up like a christmas tree.
Thank You,
