Door locks cycling?

Hey guys.. i have a 2002 excursion xlt 4x4 v10

The door locks quit working. The previous owner did the tin foil repair... i replaced the four door actuators today.
Now all of the doors lock and unlock on the manual buttons. The fob doesnt work on any door.. when i try and use the door code pad, the locks go into a cycle.. the keep trying to operate by themselves. I had to disconnect the battery to get it to stop.
For the life of me, i can't find the door lock relays. I have most of the dash out. Can anyone please tell me where these are, or do you think it is something else?

Thanks

Just added information; When the door locks went out... they all went out at the same time. The fob stopped working and the door pad stopped working and all of the door lock buttons. The only button that would work was the driver side button, it only lock/unlocked the driver side door and it was extremely weak.
I changed out the actuators and all of the manual buttons work now, and they are all a strong operation. Right now, the fob doesnt work and if i use the door pad it goes into the cont cycle.

There was a somewhat recent thread discussing the module that receives the fob signal and how it interacts with the GEM but I only glanced at it. Perhaps some clues could be found in that discussion.

Have you tried reprogramming the fobs? Maybe something happened that cleared them. Will your Ex enter programming mode?

No... ididn't try to reprogram the fob. The door pad quit working, as well, when this all went haywire. When i got home from work yesterday, i opened the drivers door and all of the locks started cycling on their own. Must be a short or something. I took it to an auto electric shop... i will let yall know if they find the problem.

Definitely keep us updated. It could be the smart junction box on your vehicle, part number 4C7Z15604AC. You're definitely doing the right thing having the system tested before replacing anything. If it is that box consider yourself lucky because Ford currently has quite a few backorder issues with parts like this but the one for the Excursion is readily available.

Well.... it was the GEM. before it got changed, it burned up two of the new actuators. It's fixed now... about $1k.

Another door lock curse

Mine did the same thing last week. No locks working. I hear something in the dash like a switch or something. Kind of a click but thats it. So was it the smart junction box that was mentioned with the link provided that you changed and also the actuators? Where did you get all of your items. THanks!!!!!

Mine was the GEM module... I'm not sure what the smart junction box is. I wound up taking mine to an auto electric repair shop to have the work done.

The SJB typically operates the door lock/security system/other electrical components and some vehicles SJB contain fuses, it is typically located in the passenger compartment/dash. The SJB has replaced GEM modules on newer vehicles but some vehicles like the Excursion have both. According to Ford the GEM module (part number 3C3Z14B205AA in the 2002 Excursion) is a "general electric module," and it operates various electrical systems in the vehicle, also typically located in the dash. I found a bit more detailed explanation on GEM modules here: https://moduleexperts.com/gem-module...FYM6gQodnMcAvA

I will have to look into this further as know I am recalling that just before the door locks quit working the radio and interior and possibly headlights were doing some weird things. with one thing on the radio would work and if it was not on radio dimmer would blackout completely. It was almost as if ET was in my damn truck LOL. I have a 2005 Excursion XLT V-10 gas. Anyone have some input what may be going on here??? Sure would appreciate it as I would be fixing this myself.

The weird things gong on only happened for about 30 seconds then stopped with everything working like it should except now the door locks don't work.
