Spare Carrier Jam
After having to use the spare after a blowout - found that having retracted the spare tire carrier on my 99 F150 without a tire/weight on it led to a jam of some sort...seems like the line is caught or something when trying to unwind to replace the spare on the carrier. Any suggestions on how to unjam?

Just did my first tire change on an F250 ('02) and I am having the same problem.
I took off the spare and rolled the flat under the bed to hook it
up. The tire went up about 3 inches and stopped, and it will not move in either direction now.
