New Speakers

I am buying new pair of new speakers and need to find a way to take the current ones out. Do I just take out the door panel? Is there a guide?

I plan on buying these https://www.walmart.com/ip/Boss-Audi...akers/16829708

Thank you.

If I remember right, they are pretty straight forward. In my case, I had manual windows and locks.

I had to take the window cranks off, then pop the door pins out of the door from behind the panel. Once all the pins are free, you can slide the panel upward toward the window working it around the door opening handle. (There is a lip on the top of the panel that hooks the panel into the door frame by the window)

Once here, I have the sliding horizontal locks. I find it easier to take the lock rod out of the sliding plastic piece once the panel is off and I can rotate it. (Tried poping the whole assembly out of the panel with it attached to the door and broke it... have done it this way since.)

If you have vertices pin locks, I assume the plastic piece on top unscrew and it simple slips down through the panel? (Not sure about this though)

Once the panel is off, if I remember right, it's a couple of screws to unhook the speaker. Then it either falls forward out of the door or inside (I can't remember which as I've replaced mine a couple times and used both methods depending the size speaker I used.)

Once the speaker is unhooked from the door, there will be 2 wires attached on the back of the speaker. One should be black and one should be white. Unhook them and hook them to your new speakers and find a way to mount them. (I can't remember what size they are..)

When you put the panel back, I find it easier to slide the pins into their mounts on the panels and then push them into the door holes. I've seen people try to put them in to door first and slide the panel onto them after and it is much more difficult.

Hope this helps and I didn't miss anything.

Earlier I took the door panel off and took the speaker out that wasn't a problem. But I am not sure what to do with the speaker. I just clip the wires out the back and then do what with them on the new speaker. I am a newbie sorry.

If they are attached still, they should just pull off, if you can't get them to pull off the spade, then you may have to cut them as close to the speaker as possible and mount a new female spade connector to wire. Check to see if the female spade with slide onto the speakers male end before attaching it to the wire, I believe they should all be the same size though.

When attaching the new wires there will be a difference in the connections on the back of the speaker. One should be skinnier than the other.

(These aren't your speakers but they should have the same 2 connectors on the back as you can see in the pictures they post here)

https://www.walmart.com/ip/Boss-Audi...ingMethod=p13n

The skinnier connection will be your ground or negative. Mount the black wire to it and the other wire the the wider one.
