since the truck is off the road for a while, due to many issues, One of which is a destroyed front suspension. the original plan was a late 90's early 00's SD SAS. but, since everyones totaled, Burned to the ground, blown up trucks are worth thousands here in SE Michigan i am just rebuilding.
I am doing axle pivots X2, all ball joints, all tie rod Assy., steering gear, and i thought that was it. UNTIL, I have the entire assembly on the ground to make getting the axle pivots out. I noticed that my rad arms at the bushings are rotted away and no longer the correct diameter.
I have found, that dorman makes rad arms, and i have a good handful of dorman on the truck now and kinda like the quality. But, they only make it for 4WD.
What is the difference between the 2WD and 4WD rad arms? dorman only wants 45$ each.
I'm not sure but JBG shows a different listing for the 2wd arm. It is probably different were it meets the I beam/TTB. They want $115 for the arm but appears to be from Ford and fits both left and right sides. The 4wd version is different left and right.
I see, was not sure if i could make it work. cant really afford 200+ on arms at this moment. looks like it will be going back together for now and come apart at a later date. junk yards are out for me, theyd all be in the same condition from what i saw last week. thank you for an answer!
they do seem different, oh well. just cleaned em up to make them look decent for now. will replace another day. got new rad arm bushings. wish they were rubber, but warranty part from a while back i bought the poly.
