I finally got my 460 rebuilt and installed. I have always avoided electrical work because I was a bit intimidated/struggled to understand everything that was going on. When I took the truck out for its first test drive, a short in the ignition system caused my ignition power wire, and the relay, to literally melt, then catch on fire due to the ground on the relay coming loose. (This was my second electrical fire of the day, but now I'm getting ahead of myself).
Long story short, I want to add an in-line fuse that runs from the 12v power source on the fender-mounted starter relay to my DS2 ignition module. I believe the wire is 16 awg and need to know what size fuse would provide protection without blowing when I turn on the power.
I learned how to work on trucks because I had a lemon that always broke down. Now I seem to be learning wire out of necessity in a similar way. It's actually quite interesting!
