A/C hybrid 1995 meets 1979
Okay folks, here is a long shot. My 1979 F-150 came with factory air but someone removed the compressor, condenser, and accumulator/ air drier. The cooling unit/evaporator and duct work is still attached to the cab and in the dash. The 300 inline 6 I am swapping in came from a 1995 F-150. I have the compressor, condenser, and accumulator/ air drier from the 95 and hoses from both trucks. Is there a conversion fitting that allows either the 1995 hoses to attach to the 1979 cooling unit/ evaporator at the firewall or the old 1979 hoses to connect at the other end? Or am I making a set of custom hoses?

Older system uses a dryer and expansion valve and the newer uses the orifice tube along with the accumulator. If it were mine I would just use the compressor from the newer engine and have some lines made up at a AC shop. The condenser on a 95 is pretty wide for a dentside and has the leaky style quick couplers. I'd look for dentside parts for everything except the compressor. Back in the day when the cabs were still nice and tight the original stuff could freeze you out.
