By the process of elimination and deductive reasoning....

What does it have? a six or eight cylinder?

Is it a small block, FE, Cleveland or 351M/400, or 385 series?

Post a pic if you have to....

Oaks... looks like woodlands in CA..

There's a warranty tag on the driver's door (aluminum attached with rivets) and another one on the pillar - driver's side, a plastic coated square dealie. Post up a picture of the tags and someone here will be able to decipher it for you. Have you a manual for your vehicle?

You probably have a 360, 2v if it hasn't been changed out and what month of the year it was produced.

Oh, and welcome...lots of smart people here....nice rig, too!

Welcome and nice truck! I agree that it is probably a 360, 2v.

BTW, I always wondered how my truck would look as a shortbed!

It didn't even occur to me that it could have come with a six.
It's a V8 as far as the rest of those you mentioned, no clue as I said new to the Ford world.

The tag on pillar says manufactured in 11/76 so I guess it's a 77
Door tag;

The "H" (4th item) denotes the engine as a 351M - a 1977 first year in trucks.
F14 - F 150, 4 wheel drive.
R - Assembled in the San Jose plant.
O22586 - A 1977 (O), the numbers are the assembly sequence.

Thanks. That already helped me get the right alternator belt at NAPA.
I should be getting the manual and a thick maintence file this weekend from the p.o.

Thanks for the info everyone. I'm looking forward to being on the Forum.
The truck is from the east bay (Ca) and from what you guys have indicated it spent it's whole life there. The odometer shows 136k. My plan is to just enjoy it and maintain it, the only real modification I may make is to install AC. I also plan to tow my 1976 vintage race car with it (short distance).

It's like deja vu... I too am in the east bay (94596) and have a shortbed 4x4 with a blue interior. What is your ZIP code?

My vintages in include a 65 and 68 Mustangs..... and more recently a 2001 Ferrari 360 Spider.
