2017 Super Duty Rust Proofing ?

Anyone going to get theirs rust proofed? Perhaps for the sound deadening? Or are there parts of the sheet metal that is steel? I know the frame is steel.

I fully intend to do it. The question is.... "To body or not to body". "If" the dealer doesn't do the body, will you be discounted the procedure? Anyway, I want the body done also as for the sound deadening effect.

I always like the spray on oil treatments just too keep lines in nice condition. I don't like the actual perm spray on treatments. When they fail they just trap moisture and they make fixing things a general PIA.

I'm planning to Fluid Film just the frame, axles, suspension, brake lines. Not touching the body.

I will be getting the usual on mine. It is called Krown and it might be similar to some oil treatments mentioned above. Many municipalities around here have their snow removal equipment done and it works great. After the first application I will just do the frame and related areas on the underside of the truck yearly. This product has kept my 2000 7.3 looking great.

Krown is 99 for cars, 119 suv, 139 super duty cc. Normally it should be done annually. For the aluminum body I will do the running gear every year, body pannels one time.

Is there a list of things / treatments one should consider when purchasing a car? Like this thread is for rustproofing. Are there other things a dealer offers?

I would like to know beforehand so I cans research them other wise it's a surprise when the finance guy wants to sell you everything under the sun.

Most item's are not needed. Other items should be looked at closely and compare quality and price to other outside vendors.

Don't buy anything the dealer offers. Anything they offer can be done after the sale, for a better price, and a higher quality level, if it even needs to be done at all.

That's probably a good thing. I usually say no to everything. Last time the guy talked me into a tire and wheel warranty which actually came in handy as I had few flats in the past year.
