I al a long time Ford man and love the old body lines of the 50s. I have the opportunity to purchase a 56 bodied 1976 high boy and am looking for some advice on a few things I want to do to this project. With a little luck the "new" truck will be home in about 3 to 4 weeks.


It is a 390 and C6 4x4 . Not wild about automatics but for now it will work until I can either find a 5 or 6 speed to swap into it. eventually I will see if a Cummins Diesel will fit but more than likely I will just stay with the 390.


Looking for some advise on a 8 ft stepside bed to fit. I know this year was either 6.5 or 9 ft so some work will need to be done one way or another.
