P2074 will not go away!
2011 F-250 with 104,xxx miles. 100% stock.
It all began with a P2074 Check Engine Light about 5,000 miles ago. I took the truck to the Ford Dealer, they said the connector to the MAF was damaged. They replaced the connector and the truck was good for a couple months.
The Check Engine Light came back about 2,000 miles and 2 months later. P2074 again.
I replaced the MAF sensor with a new Motorcraft sensor, also replaced the Air Filter just in case, then I cleared the code, and continued on my way. Then the CEL came on again a couple days later for P2074 again. I'd clear it and sometimes it would come on the next time I drove the truck.. or it would come on a couple days later.
I found a thread on another forum of someone saying they replaced MAP sensor and it fixed their problem.. so I did the same. Replaced it with a brand new Motorcraft MAP sensor and the light still comes back on randomly.
I'm good with the maintenance on my truck; I always use Motorcraft parts and filters... Ford replaced the EGR about 4 months prior to this (if that's even relevant). Truck runs & drives fine before and after the Check Engine Light turn on.
Anyone have any ideas on what to do?

Well, I took the truck to the Ford Dealer.
The truck was at their shop for 7 days before I finally got an answer. The dealer said the tech ran tests and found the MAF sensor was defective... I told the service advisor that I just replaced it, but she kept to the MAF sensor is defective diagnosis.
Got the truck back, less than 10 miles later the Check Engine Light came on again... so, the truck is back at the dealer again.

I had the same problem with 2011 F-450, the dealer changed everything and couldn't figure it out. About 2 weeks later I had a EGT sensor failure that left me on the side of the road. They replaced the sensor, reset the computer and didn't have any problems afterwards. The dealer told me that it's a 'hard code' and couldn't be reset with their computer.
Hope this helps.

I've got a 2003 Honda Goldwing that started throwing a MAP sensor fault a few years ago. I'd be riding along and the CEL would light. Bike would run normal until I tried to idle it (whether coming to a stop, or pulling in the clutch and closing the throttle) whereupon it would die. Cycle the ignition key, and everything was fine until the next time the CEL appeared, which could be 100's of miles later. This went on for ~30,000 miles. I finally got Honda to replace the sensor under warranty, which they didn't want to do because they never observed the problem, but, a few 100 miles later, there's the ever-faithful CEL light.
I finally decided that I wanted to monitor the voltage from the sensor to see if it was causing the CEL, or if something else in the system was "fooling" the computer. I pushed a needle-like probe into the back of the MAP plug on the bike side...
...and haven't had the problem since. That was 50-60,000 miles ago. My guess is that the crimp on that pin came down on the wire insulation and didn't completely bite through, and I put pressure with the probe in just the right place. I've been an electronics tech for over 40 years, and I HATE intermittent problems more every day.
I guess the moral of the story is keep trying, and try to think of every angle.
