F150 Supercab???
Question for the guru's. Im looking at buying another truck.
1978 F150 Supercab custom 4x4. D44 front and 9" rear
I know that Supercabs were big with 250. So did Ford manufactur a 150 Supercab? and if so was the front suspension different from standard cabs? It has front leaf springs instead of the coil spring and radius arms as most 150 would have???
Just wanted to ask to make sure. Thanks bubs!

Yes coil springs and radius arms are the norm on 2wd and 4wd F100 and F150's and 2wd F350's w/regular cab. And leaf spring front suspension are the norm on F250 and F350 4wd.
Now in a Super Cab only, can you get a 1/2 ton 5 lug F150 with leaf spring front suspension. And I bet there are more F250 4wd SC out there.

Maybe since it was a SC and to stay inside some GVW requirement? I believe the leafs are the same as a F250, 2 leafs and 3" wide.
You might have to do some measuring on the rear or at least some sort of comparison to an F250, before you go buying a rear lift kit. Are you planning on using blocks or new leafs all together?

Thats a good question Rich!...when I go to pick the truck up i will take a better look at the rear springs. That is a vary interesting point buddy.
As far as the lift, id like to go no higher than 2-3 inches. Id like to fit 33s comfortably and right now it has 31s that are filling the fenders pretty good. But id like to do it right and not put blocks up front. Definitely have some measuring and homework to do.

You'll want a lift (blocks, add a leaf) for the rear of a half ton because the 9" has a different axle tube diameter than the d60 found in the 3/4 ton, if I remember right. For the front you'll want mini packs, add a leafs, or replacement springs for the front of a 3/4 ton. The rear shock mounts are different from a half ton to a 3/4 (post mount vs eye) so take a look before you order shocks.

Thanks Haste for the heads up on the shocks. Ill definitely be giving that a google down. Im assuming the rears would be the same as a 150 but since these are such odd trucks who knows.
I think my general consensus will be add a leafs in the front. Still on the fence about the same in the rear or to do add a leafs there as well, either way, thanks again for pointing me in the right direction!!!

Add-a leaf per end is like 80 bucks from JC Whitney...new leafs are in the several hundreds.
Yes blocks in the rear are ok and yes it is a standard set up OEM wise. Stacked blocks in the rear is NOT and not a real good idea. IMO
The double stacked block acts like a fulcrum and can reek havoc on your rear leafs.
