So I replaced my transmission modulator the other day and I have a couple questions. First when I removed the old one ATF started pouring out like a drain plug, I just let it go till it stopped. At least a couple quarts came out. Is that normal? If not, how much should I buy to top off? More importantly, I'm not sure if I put it in right. I put the pin in the new one and pushed it into the hole and it snapped in and felt fine but I was able to push it in further but it kept popping back like a spring. I just pushed on it while tightening the bracket. Is that right or should I loosen it and let it sit where it wants? I haven't driven the truck yet because I need to buy atf and I want to make sure I didn't mess anything up by forcing the modulator in. any help appreciated, thanks
Which trans? sounds like a c6 from what you described. I had to push mine in while tightening the clamp down, it should be fully seated against the transmission case. I had a lot of fluid come out when I took mine out too but I kept my finger over the hole to minimize how much came out. So, yes that's pretty normal.
Yeah, it's a C6. Sounds like I put it in right then. Only asked about the fluid because I'm not sure how accurate a cold reading is and I don't want to drive it if it's too low but I'm sure it'll give me a good enough idea. Thanks guys!
