If you were happy with the F-150's EgoBoost performance towing the 29' TT (guessing 7500-ish lbs?) then a V-10 could be a good less expensive choice without all of the 6.0 concerns. Unless her daily driving includes lots of big smokey burnouts and stoplight drag races the 6.8 is a thirsty (in stock form mine did 14/14.5 MPG on my daily 50/50 commute and 15 highway) but super reliable motor with more than enough grunt for the jobs at hand.
I've pretty much retired my EX from daily use to extend it's life and keep it nice and now it is just our dedicated tow rig for the 11k TT, which it drags all over the East without issue.

I agree with WE3ZS, the v10 is a great option. I own 2 7.3's, and a v-10. I actually prefer to drive the v-10 on a daily basis. I also just picked up a 6.0 superduty, so we'll see how that goes.

No, but when I saw the duplicates, I merged them.

Now, the $64,000 dollar question, which one was merged into which one?

Here's the punch line.....

Big surprise, this is a common area for the 6.0 to blow the gasket.

Having owned a 7.3, and 3 6.0l
And currently still have my 05 6.0 that sees towing.

I'd really consider the V10. It never was a consideration for me at all, BUT we bought a 35' class A motorhome with a v10. It's an 02, not a new one.

It hauls that 19,000 Pounder with authority (after the 5 star tuning tuner, mostly for shifting strategy)

I'm damn impressed.

2 weeks ago I pulled my 22' enclosed interstate with a 66 f100 in it on a nearly 600 mile trip. Close to 27k gross.

Earlier this week we took it on an 1100 mile trip, heavily loaded with the family we grosses 20700. I averaged 7.1 mpg. With lots of hills.

Anyway don't be too stubborn to not consider it.

Would I trade my 05 6.0 for a gasser.....no.

But if I was in the market it consider it now that I've experienced the v10 in heavy load form.
