Looking for a 3rd brake light for my shell

Hi Folks,

I have a used fiberglass camper shell that I plan on using on my F250 and a fiberglass shell on my 2002 Ranger and I'd like to get one of those LED third brake lights to install on each of them (exterior mount - not glass mount, prefferably a single row of 10-20 bright red LEDs that I can mount above the rear window near the top edge - roof mount is also exceptable). The Ranger install is a replacement of a glass mounted factory installed standard bulb unit and the third brake light for camper shell for my F250 is a new install (never had one).

Problem is, I don't know where to go to get them. I've been to Advance Auto, Auto Zone, Pep Boys Web site, Wally World (Walmart) and Kmart (Wally World wannabe).

I did find one at JC Whitney, but I am concerned about the quality(I have only seen one review of this product online and that person posted about a premature failure of the unit) and whether or not it will work for my application.......

For the light in the Ranger shell, I'm replacing is a regular bulb type unit - is there any conversion unit (logic card) needed to switch over to an LED unit?

Any thought or Ideas???

I have seen them - just gotta remember where

. One other idea might be a bed light like is on F-Series - the one with the center red brake light and white lights on the sides. You could run a power wire back to the light and add a toggle switch in the back where you could turn them on/off as needed. That would give you lights on the back when needed...
