Hey kermmydog what old hospital are you talking about? And how is the restaurant in El Capitan down there
Happy Saturday Everyone.
The old hospital is the old Carson Tahoe hospital in Carson City.
As for the El Cap it changed owners again. The food is about the same no consistence as always. There are 4 private locally owned sandwich shops here that have great food are clean & friendly. So I seldom ever go in the El Cap, McDonalds, etc. I would rather support the locally owned businesses.
Didn't get a decent night sleep lastnight because of our outside dogs barking until 1:30am. After telling them "No barking!" numerous times, I finally got up to see what they were barking at.
Poor dogs were bone dry- totally out of water! GRR!!! I immediately went in the house, straight to Karls room, woke him up & told him to get his *** outside because he forgot to water the dogs when he did his chores.
I don't think he liked me waking him up for that, but really??
Karl & Kaedon only have 1 week long house chore each & they switch off every Sunday. Either its...clean the dishes/wipe down the kitchen & table OR feed & water all the animals/clean 2 litter boxes & trash duty. I hope this is a faze that he's going through, because it seems like all Karl does is (7am)video games, work PT at Taco Bell, video games, eat, video games, complain about chores until he gets them done - if he does them at all, more video games(11pm or later) & sleep. Kaedon does it too, but with her it's more of an internet/phone thing. UGH...Kids!
I have a grand son of 14 and a grand daughter that just turned 15 yesterday. The boy is very responsible, and hardly ever gets in trouble. However, he does like to play video games, and several times this past summer has stayed up for 24 hours at a time playing them. The grand daughter on the other hand is going to be a major concern for all of us as she is already banned from the internet except for Netflix due to her willingness to "flirt" with everyone who "claims" to be a teenage boy. She is sneaky, and conniving, and we just recently found out she had met up with a "boy" while her mom was out of town for 11 days, and she and her siblings were staying at my place. She made, and sent, some videos that should never have been made, (I will not go into detail, but lets just say they show way too much) and sent them to this "boy" who it turns out is in his 30's, not a teen like he told her. And he also sent some videos back to her that leaves nothing to the imagination. So now she is pretty much grounded from everything, and there is even talk of having her sent to a private Catholic school. This is not the first time something like this has happened, although to the best of our knowledge, it is the first time she sent nude videos and received some back. She has already been pulled out of regular school so she can do the home school bit, as her mom does not feel comfortable send her to the local high school after doing some online research. She seems to think it is all a joke, and that nothing will ever happen to her. We can't get it through her head that she is playing with fire here.
I would agree that in your daughter's case taking the phone away for a day or two would be my way of handling it, although in my grand daughter's case, she stole a phone from her mom's closet during one of the times I took her back to their apartment to feed and water the cats. That is how she got in contact with the "boy" and even kept seeing him while at my place. She would ask to go outside, and would sit on the steps and write poems or whatever. Every time I checked on her, she was there. However, in between these checks, she would go off somewhere and meet up. So banning her from the phone did not work. I hope it works with you should you decide to try that.
Good morning Nevada. Jim, that's terrifying. That's the one thing that scares me about having a daughter, even though I've beating it into her head not to do that. I'm hoping she's smart enough to make the right decisions.
I have 3 daughters, and 2 so far each had their own issues with rebelliousness. They each made it safely through them, thankfully. The little minion has yet to show that tendency. She seems to be more well rounded, but time will tell.

I have three grand daughters (so far, mom is pregnant again, but does not know if it is a boy or girl yet) 15, 9 and 6, and the other two are good in school, and constantly get student of the week, or even student of the month awards. It is the oldest one that drives us all crazy. She just doesn't seem to get it. In her defense, she was molested when she was younger by a step dad (who is still in jail) and now she seems to want to flirt with every male she sees. It doesn't help that she is an attractive girl either. We are all dreading that day when she turns 18 and moves out on her own. Can't protect her 24 seven. Heck we can't even seem to protect her while she is living at home. She is constantly trying to find a way to meet with "boys".
Good morning Nevada, happy Tuesday! Stormy here for us this morning. Greg, daughters are Gods way of paying you back for all you did as a teenager!!LOL
