yes bronco's are high mantinance, but how can you not want an american legand. Alot of the palces i go people say hey nice truck or how much will you sell that for. How often do people ask you that about your ram? i had an explorer for 4 years, and i didnt like being just another explorer, stupid things are very where. I bronco says something.....BAD A*S
Call around to some of the tranny shops in your area and ask them what they have to work on most often. I'll bet money they say they work on far more Dodges than Fords.
I am thinking of selling the Bronco and getting a clean mid 1960's F100 or Chevy or GMC pickup truck, with a straight 6. These trucks are virtually bulletproof, and for about $5,000 I can get a nice one. I can do all the work on these myself, they are as easy to work on as a lawn mower. The only thing that I want is AC, and most of these will not have it. However, I can add a great working, new AC system to these trucks from Vintage Air, maybe another $1,000-$1,500 and well worth it.
I will be getting the Bronco back from the shop this week, and will play it by ear. I really want, and think I deserve, some trouble-free service from this truck. I would prefer to keep it, if it would give my wallet a break for a while. Everything works in the truck, knock on wood, and I'd like to add a satellite/mp3 radio to it. My brother put one in his car, and it is really cool.
Oh wow...never thought a simple questiuon would get such a reply. Guess that shows the kind of following that the Bronco has. I have an 85 that has more cancer then a dead cancer patient. It looks like hell. The sound system is worth more than the truck. The wheels and tires are too prolly. But it got a new engine 50k ago when it hit 200K and a new tranny to go with it. I paid $500 for it and put 4k into it. It is now ready for ball joints. So for $5000, I have a truck that just came out of warranty on the engine and tranny. Its the only truck that made it out during this last blizzrd we had that shut the city down for 3 days. Now for 5k you cannot find a truck that dependable and with a warranty. Now it has been relegated to horse trailer towing back and forth to Oklahoma about 4 times a year, and 4 wheelin about every other weekend. Kepp your Bronco. It may give you trouble now, but it will prolly be just what you need when you arer in your next jam.
I never said I hated the truck. The man asked a question, and I gave him my honest answer. My Bronco has cost me a lot of money, and much of it was on things that should have lasted longer. I don't own the Ford Motor Company, or work there, or know anybody that does; I don't owe allegiance to them. I need a halfway dependable vehicle. Money is definitely an issue, I certainly can't say that "money is no object." Send me some money, I'll buy a new vehicle with a warranty, so as to avoid offending you.
Next time that you want to post something derogatory, get your facts straight. Find somewhere where I said I hate my Bronco, otherwise, shut the F@$& up. It's just a truck.
My bronco says that he's not high maintenance... he just likes to be pampered! Likes the finer things in life, he does! He also agrees that it is against the law to trade a bronco for a dodge - only another bronco will do!
When did I say that? If I did it was probably in Dec. 2001 when the truck cost me over $2,000 in stupid repairs, not even something useful like a new engine or anything. And if I did say this, you had to search for it and it wasn't on this thread. So either way you are just stirring up trouble for no reason. I stand by everything I said. It's a truck. It's not somebodies child or something. It's an inanimate object. It drained my bank account on more than one occasion. In answer to the man's original question, I believe that a 1997 Dodge Ram with a new engine is more relaible than a Bronco. I owned a 1999 Dodge Ram and had no problems with it. As I said, I am answering a question. I didn't start a thread saying the Dodge Rams are better than Broncos. It's a truck. Get a life.
I searched all forums up to a year ago, body text and title, for any threads posted on by me with the word "hate" in them. The only one I found was this one, where you said "hate" first. So go make love to your beloved Bronco and leave me alone.
