Experts,
The code 33 description in the manual which came with my code reader reads, " EGR Valve Fault / not closing properly".
The description in my Chilton's manual reads, "EGR Valve opening not detected".
So which is it, "not opening" or "not closing"? Not closing would indicate to me a faulty or dirty valve. "Not opening" may or may not be the valve. Am I on track here? Can the EGR valves on these be cleaned?
Did you get 33 code off the truck in your signature (95 F150) if so that ECC should be giving you three digit troublecodes. Are you sure it send 111 (system pass) twice in a row?
Yes it is the 95. I'll have to run them again I suppose. I didn't realize they should be 3 digit codes. How would a 33 show up on on a system giving 3 digit codes?
I thought my truck put out a 33 one time so I took it to the garage and they put a digital code reader on the truck. The digital code reader indicated the truck was sending 111 twice in a row so I had just mis-read it.
