Ok, left home with family to hit mammoth. Pulling both Cajon pass and Sherman pass (6-7% grades), ipr was at 63%, but ICP stayed around 2750-2800..also noticed, MAP at one point was -1.2 at idle after pulling off to stores and idling. Any thoughts as to why? No chip/tuner..etc, all stock
A negative number on Boost while idling is normal - the turbo isn't blowing as hard as the engine is sucking.
63% IPR with 2800 PSI ICP means you likely have internal oil leaks developing. Are you up for an injector O-ring swap? It's also possible the IPR is sticking or the ICP sensor is lying.
What Rich said.Tim I was thinking o-rings also. But you did run veggie so just maybe your IPR is full of curd. But check the ICP also. What's you IPR % at idle? HPOP seems strong because it's holding pressure. Let us know, you should be fine driving it, just check into it later.
So, here in gods country, service ain't great... Being 8k+ in elevation, I chaulked up the negative boost to it...fuel filter replaced prior to trip, looked like new. Oil midway on hash, new ICP and ipr 3+yrs ago... When doing the fuel filter and repliumbing the fuel lines, I noticed the tinnut loose. This truck hasn't fired off being warm lil this, in years..half a revolution and she's awake
Ok, so coming home, hit a hill and this is where its at..
Ipr 64.2%
d.s-p.s egt..1150/1200
60mph
2-3k elevation
go pedal to floor in 5th gear, if counting L as 1st
Fuel filter is not black. Clean as the day I installed it, over a year ago which just got replaced prior to leaving..
fuel psi 55-62#
100*+ outside temp when in tow
You can see ait far right, small box
... Drive today, 85*, freeway no tow, hit 16#, 39%ipr and 2800ish ICP, from a 60-90 run...go figure
. So, only in your, hot outside, up hill and elevation seem to be the drink made for truck to crap out....
Thanks for the vid, Hoss.... With an oring leaking, was your fuel filter black? I'm trying to understand how the filter can get black, with no regulated return. Does the fuel, not regulate at the bowl, prior to being released to the heads? If so, and with a deafhead system, I can't see how the filter can get contaminated...right?
