Hello everyone I am trying to get some information on my dump truck so I can start to fix it up. It currently has a short. Before I can fix it up I need to identify the VIN number. I was told it is a 67, but I want to be sure so I can order the correct parts for it. The VIN is F61CK807956, I would like to decode the VIN to determine the engine size, where it was made, etc. I was doing some research and noticed that on the F-300's the Diesel engine has the oil bath air filter, is this the same for the gas engine? I only ask because my dump truck has the oil bath air filter and it is gas, it also gets vapor lock and I have to unplug the battery every time I turn off the key. I would also like some information on the dump procedure, is anybody familiar with replacing some parts? The PTO is leaking and the linkage near the transmission is sticking.
