The distance traveled by the tire on 29's is 91.089 vs 98.942 on 31.5"or 7.852". You didn't mention you current gear ratio. Check your mileage, if it changes more than 10-15% or you are towing at the upper limits of your vehicle I wouldn't be to concerned.

If you have 3.55's now, then the taller tires will be like reducing that to 3.27's.

Power will drop noticeable, but not too bad. I even tow with my 5.4 on 32's with the stock 3.73 rear end ratio.
Note that your speedo will be off by 7-10%

I have a 97 E250 with 5.4 and 3.73 gears.
Stock tires 225/75-16 29.5" diameter
Changed to 245/75-16 30.5" diameter because there are more options.

Not as big a change as you're looking at but the only thing I noticed was the speedometer is actually more accurate. Almost spot on now.

Still hauls loads and tows trailers with no problems

I have an 03 F350 4x4 5.4L auto, It had 20" wheels with 305/55/20 Nitto grapplers with 3:55, The truck couldn't get out of it's own way to save it's life, I found a stock chrome set of 16" wheels and tires and now the truck has all the power one could ask for, and the speedo is only off by 5mph, where it was off by 13mph before.

I went from 225/75r16 to 235/85r16 and could definitly feel the difference in acceleration after the bigger tires. My van has 3.54s. I have an auxiliary OD that i usually just left on high with the old tires. While i still can leave it in high foe city driving it feels very sluggish off the line. I haven't had a trailer hooked up since the tire swap, but i think i will be putting the OD in low for city or any stop and go action.......which i didnt have to do before. The big benefit for me was lower rpms at hwy speeds which helped with hwy mileage and cabin noise. I believe it hurt my city mileage a little though.

changed the tires now. The difference between 225-75-16 and 265-75-16 is considerable. in the Corner the tire is softer cause of the bigger hight. so the car is dunking a Little. the Ratio Change is really noticeable, but acceptable. speedo changed about 8km/h while driving 100Km/h.

sure the handling Performance doenst improve but the optic is enormous!

karsten p was right, i had to cut out a Little of the tir housing, but only about 4 cm on the bottom rearpart of the front housing. reward is a awesome look, will post some Pictures later. Im at work at the Moment ;-)
