Need some help 97 e350
I have a 97 e350, with the 5.4 and no compression in number 8 after the plug shot out. had it repaired and ran well for several months then nothing. all that being said I have access to a 2011 donor van with a good engine, the question is it possible to do this swap and is it worth it, the van is not a daily driver but I use it for jobs and would like it running. it actually runs well on the road but sitting at a red light is rough

You have a 14 year difference in vans, Although they say it's the same, I'd think you'd have to take the wiring harness and ECU with it. As for being worth swapping, it depends on miles on the motor? How was the motor treated (maintained)? I f it's been beat on and ignored then I'd probably look for another engine or pull the one I have in the 97 and rebuild it. while driving the 2011.

the 2011 was well maintained, but was totaled, so it is not driveable
