6.0 Questions

So I sold my 7.3 in hopes to find a good 6.0. Right now im looking at buying a 2005 f350 cclb fx4 auto with 180,000 miles. It has the sinister diesel coolant filter and that looks like its it. The guy at the lot said its stock besides that. Its $12,999. It drives smooth, the turbo spools right up, and the tranny shifts smooth, and the body is straight. So is this a good buy? Id be doing an egr delete and arp studs asap, but How well will it pull without studs and an egr delete? And can I pull the motor out by removing the front clip? I dont have the ability to lift the cab. What is a decent tuner to do after an egr delete and straight pipe? It was a california truck, so is there any special factory bs I need to find and get rid of? Also, what else should I look for mechanically before I buy. Also, I live in a part of oregon that doesnt have emissions testing thank God so no worries about deleting anything Thanks in advance.

The coolant filter suggests someone was serious about taking care of it.

I've got 230k miles on stock head bolts and tow a 10k TT ( large wins sail) with little concern. Don't be so quick to jump into studs and dont run tunes on stock head bolts.

Ditto. Tunes at the ECM can have adverse effects because of the strategies they use to get extra HP. Have the FICM tuned with the PHP Atlas 40 instead. You will be happy and not have to worry about head studs. Do a turbo back system like 4" max size. Do the blue spring fuel system upgrade. It's prolly due for dummy plugs and stand pipes too. And have fun with her. Bruce
